[slscripters] Update on prim with BUG that causes it to disappear on sim crossings.

Void Singer
are you using a client that uses custom rez settings? if so, have you tried resetting them to default or trying it in a client that does not? are the regions where it occurs on the same sim channel?

I'm in trouble.  My virus problem is independent of script method of
moving, llSetPos, llSetRegionPos, or llMoveToTarget.

Filed JIRA BUG-5530 <https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-5530>

You can infect a prim by rezzing and moving across the sim line in edit,
then saving.  No script needed.

After that the prim and copies of it will be returned to L&F or just
disappear if they cross a sim line under script control.

Re: [slscripters] Update on prim with BUG that causes it to disappear on sim crossings.

AnnMarie Otoole
Thanks, Void.

It appears to be independent of client or client settings.  Although this is the first distillation of the bug sufficiently to file a JIRA it has been around for many years.

I remember years ago putting a script into a card game that detected when the sim was about to restart and moved the game and seated players to a skybox in the adjacent sim.  It was abandoned because the subsequent return to the original location never worked after having once crossed the sim line and it always ended up in Lost & Found.

Cross checking against sim channel is an excellent suggestion.  However symptoms from others that have seen and ignored the problem suggests that perhaps all sim crossings have this problem but the probability of occurrence varies from zero to 100% depending on some unidentified influences.  One contributor suggests complexity of the object may be a factor.
